Lead Pastor
Rob Bray is a marketplace and ministry leader with over a decade of experience in both business and nonprofit contexts. Rob has catalyzed successful companies, grown healthy ministries, and spoken at influential conferences, workshops, and events. He is the Founding Pastor of Spirit + Truth, a life-giving church in Northern Colorado, as well as the Founder of Higher Purpose, a coaching company helping people and organizations grow in personal fulfillment, leadership skills, and strategic planning. He currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Open Bible Church in Rapid City, South Dakota. Rob’s expertise and passion have made him a trusted advisor and coach for leaders and entrepreneurs seeking breakthroughs in multiple areas of life. Rob and his wife Bethany homeschool their six children: Nehemiah, Nora, Noelle, Neely, Nayla, and Nicholas. In their spare time, they enjoy hiking, paddle-boarding, camping, and snowboarding.
Brian McDaniel
Executive Pastor
Brian McDaniel is an Ordained Minister with Open Bible Churches and currently ministers as the Executive Pastor.
Brian and his wife Deanna have served in various pastoral roles in West Virginia and South Dakota before joining the ministry team at Open Bible Church in June 2008. Brian graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Finance and spent thirteen years in the corporate banking industry and two years in jewelry manufacturing.
He enjoys food preservation, gardening and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Deanna, are the proud parents of two children, Ashlin and Braysin.
Christi Hendrickson
Discipleship Pastor
Christi Hendrickson joined the staff in 2006 and has served in several capacities, currently as Discipleship Pastor as well as principal of  Creekside Christian School. Christi’s passions are to help people understand the Word of God, walk beside them in their spiritual growth process, and help leaders develop and deploy to wherever God has called them. She has been credentialed with Open Bible Churches since 2008.Â
Pastor Christi and her husband Roy have been married for 25+ years and together own and operate a ranch east of town. They enjoy spending time with family (i.e. grandkids) and friends, traveling, and stewarding the chunk of ground God has given them.Â
Seth Caldwell
Next Gen Pastor
Seth Caldwell brings organizational vision and a deep passion for healthy families to the Open Bible team. A faithful follower of Jesus since coming to faith at Open Bible Church in 2003, Seth has served in a wide range of volunteer and staff roles across kids, youth, and young adult ministries, as well as with Upward Sports, Creekside Christian School, Dream Kids Daycare, and the church’s maintenance team. After ten years on staff serving Birth-5th grade kids and families, he now steps into a role of strategic oversight for the Next Gen ministries team.
Seth is a credentialed minister with Open Bible Churches and holds a
Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Organizations. Gifted in teaching the next generation what it means to be part of God’s family and skilled in raising up leaders and equipping volunteer teams, Seth is passionate about seeing a unified church and strong families raising children who impact their world for Christ. His most important ministry is at home with his wife Katie and their children, Cooper and Ellie.
Josey Sorenson
Creative Pastor
Pastor Josey joined the OBC staff as the Creative Pastor. He has a passion and a deep desire for those who attend to have an encounter with the Living God. He has been apart of the church since the winter of 2001 and volunteered in many places before joining the staff.Â
He is married to his high school sweetheart, Bianca. Â Together they have 4 wonderful kids, Silas, Erin, Danny, and Henry.Â
Outside of work, He enjoys spending time with his family, being in the kitchen cooking, Â being outside, or just simply relaxing.Â

Mariah brings a strong combination of spiritual leadership, organizational excellence, and a heart for healthy, God-centered worship ministry. She has experience launching and leading worship ministries, developing volunteer teams, and partnering closely with pastoral leadership to create cohesive and life-giving worship gatherings. Mariah has led in both church plant and established ministry contexts, building teams, planning services, and establishing systems that support long-term sustainability. She is also gifted in ministry administration and event coordination, bringing clarity, communication, and care to every area she leads.
As a wife to her husband Logan and mother to their two daughters, Harvest and Hallelujah, Mariah carries a grounded, grace-filled faith and a deep desire to cultivate environments where people can genuinely encounter God. She is excited to help strengthen and steward the worship culture at Open Bible Church.

Logan Dorn
Next Gen Outreach Director
Logan is an ordained evangelist who joined Open Bible in April of 2026. He has been following Jesus for over ten years and along the way has gone through various ministry trainings and equippings. He has a passion for seeing believers get outside the four walls of the church and be the salt and light God called them to be in the world.
He has also had the privilege of coaching middle school and high school basketball, using the game he loves as a way to pour into the next generation. Whether on the court or in the streets, Logan believes the Gospel belongs everywhere and that everyday life is full of open doors for ministry.
He has a heart to see people not just hear about God but actually encounter His presence and learn to recognize His voice for themselves.
Logan is married to his wife Mariah and is a dad to his two daughters, Harvest and Hallelujah. In his free time you will find him watching or playing sports, mostly basketball and football.
Ryan Beck
Next Gen Discipleship Director
Ryan Beck brings a strong background in relational leadership and a deep passion for discipling the next generation. He has over 10 years of experience in human relations, including managing group homes for youth and young adults with disabilities and behavioral challenges.
Ryan has faithfully served in youth ministry for several years, including as a youth group leader at a church in Oregon and most recently at Open Bible Church.
Known for his integrity, perseverance, and heart for people, Ryan is committed to helping young people grow in their faith, identity, and purpose in Christ. He is excited to invest in the spiritual formation of the next generation and contribute to the mission of the church.

Katie Caldwell
Next Gen Admin Assistant
Katie Caldwell has a deep love for Jesus and a passion for helping others grow in their faith through Spirit-led conversations and intentional, Scripture-based living. She has been part of Open Bible Church since she was a child and has faithfully served for many years alongside her husband Seth in youth, young adult, and small group ministry.
Katie has been developed and entrusted with leadership through mentoring, mission trips, and event leadership, and she brings a strong heart for people to feel seen, known, and equipped to walk in their God-given calling. With a background in social sciences and experience organizing teams in both church and marketplace settings, she brings valuable administrative strength and relational leadership to this season.
Katie is stepping in to support the Next Gen team during this transition, helping establish systems and provide coordination across Kids, Youth, and Young Adults her greatest joy and primary ministry is her family: her husband Seth and their two children, Cooper and Ellie.

Mary and her husband Craig moved to South Dakota in 2019 from Nebraska. Â “It’s been our dream to live in the Black Hills”. Â They enjoy riding the trails in their Polaris and hiking. Â
