Text:Habakkuk 2:1-4.

Introduction –

In last week’s part II of this message series we considered the church’s role in your life and your role in the church. I encourage you: engage faithfully in your spiritual mother’screativity, care, correction, and confirmation of who you are and what you’re called to be.

In today’s part III, I want to share regarding a priority that has continued to keep this church on track for decades; in realizing more of God’s vision with each passing ministerial season: elect God’s man for the role of Lead Pastor of OBC!

Prioritize electing a pastor who has integrity (Proverbs 11:3; cf. Hebrews 13:18; I Peter 3:16).

Prioritize electing a pastor who’s true to preaching the word of God (II Timothy 2:11-15; 4:1-4; cf. Galatians 1:10).

Prioritize electing a pastor who’s the same in private and in public (I Timothy 3:1-7; cfs. Acts 6:4; I Peter 5:1-4).

Conclusion –

  • Pray for those serving on the search committee considering the applicants fit for OBC by the four criteria I just shared;
  • Pray for those serving on the Elders and Directors boards to have a shared witness their spirits as to whom to invite as candidates and which order;
  • Begin praying that the voting members of this church (Partners) will have the same mind as God regarding a candidate.

God has blessed this church throughout her 88-year history... and may God’s multiplication, favor, and presence (His blessing) continue.

Keep God’s vision for OBC plain and clear that you may run in ministry:
