Kidz Life

PB&J (Purposeful, Biblical Teaching & Joy)

BIRTH THROUGH GRADE 5

Please note: we are a peanut-free facility.

Our goal is to provide children with purposeful, biblical teaching with elements of joy weaved into our time together to make sure the main points STICK with them beyond their class time each week! We will lead kids to KNOW Jesus and His love first for themselves, then to GO to their world and SHOW who Jesus is in their every-day encounters.

Our plan is always to partner with parents as they train their children in godliness at home. We will often send home sheets describing what has been taught and how parents can emphasize those key points during the week in family devotion times. This particular school year we will be emphasizing to the children that WE ARE THE CHURCH! WE (children included) must understand that God has designed us all to work together to build his Kingdom. We ARE God’s people today! Kids don’t have to wait until they “grow up” to do big things for God! We strive to always keep in mind that we are all a part of THE great big plan God has for his people to change the world! When we come together as Christians, we must remember that we are truly God’s CHURCH! We a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession!

Meeting Times

Sundays

8:00 Service
Birth-5th grade meets together

10:00 Service
Our full range of Birth-PreK classrooms are open for age-specific Bible lessons and activities. K-5th graders meet together for worship and then divide into small groups.

*On the first Sunday of each month, we encourage our Kindergarten through 5th graders to check in and sit with their families through the communion service. This provides a unique opportunity for parents to train their children the “why” we do communion.

Wednesdays, 6:30-7:45 PM

  • Sunlight Kids (Birth – Two Years) – Sunlight Kids get more than just babysitting! Our goal, even at this age, is to intentionally teach Bible truths to young children. Developed by early childhood experts, Sunlight Kids uses a proven approach that young children understand.
  • Rainbows (Three – PreK) – Rainbows launches little hearts into the exciting journey of discovering God and His great love. Each month will feature a different animal that illustrates a biblical truth, plus exciting Bible stories, crafts, activity pages, and games to make the lessons “stick”.
  • Mpact Girls (Girls: K – 5th Grade) – Girls will get to experience units on basic Christian beliefs, missions, character development, and various activities. They will have opportunities to learn through verse memorization, projects, Bible reading, etc.
  • Royal Rangers (Boys: K – 5th Grade) – Royal Rangers is an activity-based, small-group ministry for boys that has a mission to evangelize, equip, and empower the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders.
  • We ensure the rooms are sanitized before and after they are used each week.
  • To keep us all healthy, we have a well-child policy. Parents may not leave children who appear ill, who have been running a fever, or have vomited in the past 24 hours. (See above for further info.)
  • Medication may not be administered by KL Volunteers any time. (This includes the application of diaper rash creams/ointments—parents will be called to come apply this).
  • Kidz Life Volunteers are not permitted to apply first aid, beyond a Band-Aid, to any injury occurring in the church facility. Parents will be notified immediately and summoned to the child’s room via the phone number on their check-in sticker if a situation arises. First aid kits will be available for use if necessary.
  • ALL Kidz Life volunteers (age 18 and older) have completed a background check to ensure the safety of the children we minister too each week.
  • Families are asked to check in their children BEFORE bringing them to their classes. Children will only be released to parents/guardians that present their security tag when the child is picked up. No child will be released to anyone under 18 years of age without prior consent from the Children and Families Pastor.

Our Children’s Ministry is for well children. We love children, but we do not have the facilities or staff to give the separate, special care that sick children need. If a child has or develops any of the following, we cannot accept him/her into Children’s Ministry Classes.

  • Fever over 100.5 orally. Fever is associated with illness and is not acceptable with teething.
  • Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
  • Skin rashes or eruptions of unknown origin, including impetigo, measles, chicken pox, etc. If your child contracts any of these, please call the church office.
  • Severe or prolonged coughing associated with respiratory infections, including colds, bronchitis, RSV, etc.
  • Runny nose with a yellow or green colored discharge, and/or congestion associated with a cough or fever.
  • Conjunctivitis or pink eye which may also have a colored discharge or drainage.
  • Parasites and forms of lice, mites, or ringworm.
  • Draining ears, which are usually infectious and very uncomfortable for the child.

A child who has been ill may return to our classes if he/she is recovering from an illness which is usually contagious, but the doctor says is no longer contagious, or he/she has been on medication for at least 24 hours.
